OverviewThese lovely homeowners wanted to remove the existing lowered family room, dining room, hallway and wall separation between the kitchen and living room. They essentially wanted to open the entire home up from front to back with a HUGE kitchen island for entertaining. In order to achieve this look we raised the family room floor, removed four walls to create one cohesive and open space. By eliminating the family room, we were able to provide them with a huge kitchen and island. This kitchen is the focal point of the main floor. The symmetrical layout with the centred cooktop along the cabinetry wall creates a dramatic look that is completed with a 15’ long island that seats eight, including a dropped eating table attached. Hand scraped hardwood flows throughout the main floor complete the look. We also gave their front elevation a face lift and updated the bathrooms.
